What are the benefits of blogging for students?
Many people read blogs on a regular basis. I often refer to blogs when teaching, and encourage students to use blogs as well. Last year, we participated in Global Read Aloud. We used a blogging platform to connect with other students around the world. This allowed students to write for a far larger audience than just our classroom, and to read and respond to blogs written by other students. Blogging allowed students to have a stronger voice while writing. It also allows students to use technology - integrate pictures, visuals, videos, and other types of media into the blog. Blogging is a great way for students to connect with each other and the larger world.
